About Kitale Family House of Hope Children's Home

Kitale family House of Hope Childrens home was began in 2008 as a rescue centre for children who had lost their parents or whose parents whereabouts could not easily be known after the post-election violence. This home began with a small number of 26 but has grown to the capacity of about 70 children at every given time. Kitale family house of hope children’s home is a non-governmental children’s charitable institution that exists to rescue, rehabilitate, reintegrate, prevent, safeguard   the rights, safety, well- being, dignity and development of children. We provide holistic care and protection to vulnerable children who include orphans, children from the street, child mothers, neglected, abused and abandoned children among others

Our Projects

Daughters of restoration program

A daughter of restoration program rescues and rehabilitates young girls who have been victims of sexual abuse and/or are pregnant.

Social justice and advocacy program

Social justice and advocacy programme also makes use of public or organized forums to create sustained awareness on Gender-based violence

Child Protection and Development program

The home based support and care program

The home based support and care program support needy children by taking them to school within their family setup. The home based care and support complements the child care program by meeting the needs of children without breaking the family setup and institutionalization of children. The home based support and care program also includes family support program which empowers households of vulnerable children to be able to provide for and support and meet the needs of the children. We provide:

  • uniform
  • school stationary and supplies
  • food for the child and family
